Blanket Chest (2005)
This is the sixth piece in a series of bedroom furniture for our future daughter (you can see the others in the gallery).
This piece is of my own design, but it's made in the same theme as the other furniture I've made for the nursery. Construction is mortise and tenons with floating raised panels, the wood is soft maple, and the finish is sprayed waterborne poly.
This will complete the furniture for the nursery until our daughter is ready to leave her crib and sleep in a bed. Since I expect my shop time to decrease dramatically upon her arrival, I might want to get started on that bed right now....
