Pizza Peels (2009)
My BIL asked me to make him a pizza peel. I had never seen or used one before so he pointed me to a couple web pages for reference (o'all size, general shape, etc). Here's what I came up with:
Woods are soft maple and cherry. Finish is a mineral oil & wax mixture. Tapering these things was pretty cool - built a sled for my planer and then finished the leading edges by hand.
One will go to him and one will go to the wife (who wanted to commandeer the first one when she saw it which forced me to make a second).
Pretty sad when this is the only project I have to show for a number of months. Shop output has slowed dramatically.
