Saw Blade Storage Cabinet (2006)
I've been keeping my saw blades piled on top of one another under the extension table of my saw for a long time, and I've always wanted to get them organized and stored safely. I finally built this simple cabinet to keep them organized and within easy reach.
Construction is whatever scrap 3/4" and 1/4" plywood I had laying around and some cherry offcuts for facing. The 1/4" ply used for the "drawer" bottoms was a sheet I didn't want to use on furniture because it had warped like a potato chip. It's fine for this kind of stuff though. I drilled a large hole in the center of the drawers for a finger pull so that I don't have to ever get close to the sharp teeth.
I left the bottom section open so that I can slide in my Freud dado blade set.
It's safely hung on a bare spot on the wall with a french cleat, and it's only a step or two away from the saw.
As usual with my shop projects, there's NO finish applied and I did practically no sanding. It looks kinda raw but for my shop stuff function trumps form and appearance.
