Ash Turned Vase (6/7/2007)
So I'm all psyched as I bring up the first two pieces off my new Monster hollowing rig, and the wife takes one look at em and says "what are those things and what are you going to do with em?". "They're Art, Dear" says I. Then I get "well I can tell that one is a vase, but what's that other thing?". So I say "It's a Hollow Form, Dear - it's Art!" and then stomp off to add them to the other piles of round things that are really starting to clog the living room and library. Sheesh!
Here's the vase. 6-1/2" tall in ash (which died on my lot from the Emerald Ash Borer) finished with lightly buffed antique oil:
