Mission Coffee Table (2001)
The coffee table below is from plans in Woodsmith magazine. You can check the plans out at this link.It coordinates with the sofa table and a set of end tables I’ve already built.
Contruction is quarter-sawn white oak with mortice and tenon joints, and finished with Watco Dark Walnut and a wipe on poly topcoat.
This turned out really nicely. I especialy like the vertical tenons. I made a couple minor and barely-noticeable screw-ups while machining the top to accept the glass. The mitered corners on the top opened up a slight bit after a year’s worth of seasonal humidity changes, but other than those fairly minor issues I’m happy with the results.
